About
A Showroom Built Around What Buyers Actually Complain About
Vélora Motors has been trading vehicles in Nairobi since 2014. The business was built by fixing the parts of the process that made buying a car unpleasant.
Our story
Twelve Years, One Consistent Complaint
Every buyer told us a version of the same thing: they did not mind paying, they minded not knowing.
Not knowing the real mileage. Not knowing whether the panel gap meant a repair. Not knowing whether the monthly repayment they had been quoted was competitive or simply the first offer anybody had put in front of them.
So we built the business around removing that uncertainty. Every vehicle is inspected before it is listed, and the inspection findings go on the page whether they help the sale or not. Financing offers are compared across lenders rather than routed to whoever pays the best commission.
It is a slower way to sell cars. It also means most of our stock now moves to buyers who were referred by somebody we sold to previously.

How we operate
Four Rules We Do Not Bend
These are the operating principles the showroom is actually run on, not a wall poster.
Say what is true
If a vehicle has been repaired, the listing says so. If the mileage cannot be independently verified, the listing says that too. Buyers find out eventually; it costs less to tell them first.
Price it once
The number on the page is the number. We would rather lose a sale to a competitor's headline figure than win one and add fees at signing.
Sell the right car
Our specialists are not paid a spiff on individual units. Talking someone out of a vehicle that does not suit them is a good day, not a lost one.
Stay reachable
A real person answers WhatsApp during working hours, and the person who sold you the car is the person you call three months later.

Careers
We Hire for Judgement, Not Patter
If you can tell a customer that the car they came in for is the wrong one — and explain why — we would like to hear from you.
We periodically take on sales specialists, vehicle inspectors and finance coordinators. Send a note about what you have sold, fixed or financed and what you learned from the one that went wrong.
